Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City)Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, is the largest city of Vietnam. It is located just north of the Mekong Delta. Go To Large Map The city is infamous for its crazy traffic (motorbikes) and one of the biggest challenges in southeast Asia - crossing a main road at rush hour. Spending time in Saigon you can feel the power of a growing metropolis. Everybody is moving and everybody seems to be moving on a motorbike. The city is also a shopping paradise. Following the Fall of Saigon in 1975, Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City. However the old Saigon moniker is still used by both Vietnamese and foreigners, especially when referring to the most central part of the city, to which most tourists flock.

Ho Chi Minh City Hall
French colonial style building, built in 1902-1908. Since 1975 it is called Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Cu Chi tunnel
The Cu Chi tunnels were constructed during the Vietnam War and served as headquarters for the Viet Cong.
